Here is a link to my 2 blogs: http://my6catspart2.blogspot.com http://mysixgeriatriccats.blogspot.com I am very late with this assignment due to a vacation and illness, but I hope to finish the entire course by May 18th. I have learned a great deal of usefull information so far. I had always wanted to have a blog, but did not know how to go about setting one up. Ditto for a wiki. This course is really fabulous, and I hope that I can finish it on time.

Getting back to completing what I started! I have set up my blog and wiki and have posted the links. The blog is a trial at doing an online newsletter for the library. It is called News to Users and the site is newstousers.wordpress.com. I have already experimented with work wikis at pbwiki so this time I tried a social one. It is for my book club that meets at a local bookstore once a month and I dubbed it Table for Five. The site is tableforfive.wetpaint.com. My past experience with wikis has been they are only as good as the intent of the members to participate! But they can be a valuable tool.

Here is the link the the AV Troubleshooters wiki
http://avtroubleshooters.wetpaint.com/ Our library staff spends a lot of time with audiovisual services; our equipment inventory is in the thousands, our details are endless. We have a library staff only website that we use to post information and tips but it is worth exploring the "in the moment" nature of a wiki. I don't know what others will see as I made the Wiki private. The link to my blog, modest, modest, modest is http://gumshoelibrarian.blogspot.com The key is to give it a try and go back to it periodically to experiment. Practice.

Hi, everyone,
My blog, GAbfest, is designed to be a gathering place for the OU-Tulsa Library's graduate assistants, the GA supervisor (me) and the GA's mentors. Here's the link: http://gabfest.wetpaint.com/. It's pretty bare at the moment, but I will soon complete the GA training manual that only now has the TOC posted. It will also be a place for our GAs to display the projects they've been assigned. My blog is The Happy-Go-Lucky Librarian, where I've posted and explaination of one fo the major issues with which our library struggles. IT can be found at this site: http://thehappy-go-luckylibrarian.blogspot.com/. To date, that's all that's there, but I hope to expand it so it will be a helpful tool for our staff. Hope you're all enjoying the class as much as I am! Lynn

Hello, All
I have started my first wiki - a book/movie club for family and friends. It is private. I wasn't sure whether to make it private; but fel that family and friends would be less reticent to join in knowing it wasn't public. there seems to be a lot of hesitation on peoples' parts. Are you finding the same? Patricia http://shuwilliebookclub.wetpaint.com/

I just wanted to comment that I have been looking at the links on the Wiki, like others blogs. I am impressed with many of the formats. I don't know why but the MLA Blog link today didn't have a list of everyone's blog like is did a couple of days ago. My blog is very basic and see others motivates me to learn more. I am enjoying this class, but I wish I didn't feel so overwhelmed with all the places to look and read. I'm learning slowly but surely.

Hi everyone, I am really excited about creating my own wiki and my own blog. This class is giving me the opportunity to explore these new web 2.0 technologies that I can use in my library. I can't wait to learn more about web 2.0. I am also looking t forward to learn from everyone in this class.

Hi, friends and colleagues.
Is there an easy way to turn words/phrases in your Wiki posts into Web links, or do you have to do it the old-fashioned HTML way? Oh, also, I'm glad to see so many knitting and tea enthusiasts in the class!

I have put together a list of medical/nursing journals and their corresponding RSS Table of Content Feed URLs in an excel file. Check the new page created, "RSS Feed Project" http://mlawikiclass.wetpaint.com/page/RSS+Feed+Project It is no where near completion, but I hope to have a very comprehensive list so that when a patron asks if they can subscribe to a TOC feed for a particular journal, I can quickly refer to this excel file and point them in the right direction. I'm sure there is a database out there that has this already, so I may be reinventing the wheel, but I also thought it would be a good expriment for wiki collaboration.

I created a private book club wiki for my circle of friends. Every three months we select a book, read and then discuss. Since we all live in various parts of the country and as far as the Bahamas, setting up this wiki is a brilliant idea. We can now share our thoughts, make suggestions and catch up with each other.

Check out my new Wiki at http://hiringnewlibrarian.wetpaint.com/. I'm hoping you will contribute questions that you ask when inteviewing for a new librarian (or questions you've been asked on interviews). I'd also love to hear about presentations you require of your job candidates or other creative interviewing techniques you've run across. You can also visit my blog at: http://hiringnewlibrarian.wetpaint.com/. Holly
